Bridge is a unit of several crowns that are combined together to cover the gap between teeth.
The gap left by a missing tooth can mean greater strain on the teeth at either side.

A gap can also mean that the ‘bite’ is affected, because the teeth next to the space can lean into the gap and alter the way the upper and lower teeth bite together.
This can then lead to food getting packed into the gap, which causes both decay and gum diseas.

The bridge will help to prevent the shifting of the teeth, and also the gum disease may be decreased at the same time. Moreover, it will retain good bite and natural speech.

What are the bridges made of, and how to look after them?

Bridges are usually made of a precious metal base which bonded with porcelain or zirconium.
